Wednesday, July 3rd

Today was our last day!! It's crazy how fast it seemed to go by. Some of us were ready to go home, some of us weren't. Overall, the trip was super amazing and a great, faith-strengthening experience. Favorite parts included the car rides, the Rite of Passage ride in Animal Kingdom, meeting Lucas and Anthony at the youth rally, and getting close with everyone on the trip. Today we drove the last stretch of the trip from Illinois to Minnesota (about 6 hours long) which didn't seem like anything compared to the 10 hours we had driven the day before. Finally, I would just like to say a big thank you to the Strehlow's for chaperoning and to all our host families and everyone who worked to made this trip possible! Speaking for all the teens on the trip, we really, really appreciate it!! Have a great rest of your summer everyone!

Tuesday, July 2nd

Today was another one of those super interesting days where we drive and drive and then drive some more. We drove from Tennessee to Illinois after saying goodbye to the Snyder's. When we got to Jerusalem Church in Illinois, we enjoyed pizza and s'mores and then played spikeball and basketball. Then it started to rain, so we all headed to our host families' houses for the night.

Quote of the Day:

Monday, July 1st

We started today with three hours canvassing, then we headed to Subway for lunch courtesy of Living Hope Church. After that, we headed to downtown Chatanooga for a day of exploring. We got ice cream first, then took some artsy pictures on a bridge across the Tennessee River. We went on a carousel and played frisbee in the park. We also went to the souvenir shop. Then we headed back to Snyder's for the night where we enjoyed some sing-a-long time with the piano.

Sunday, June 30th

We started off today helping set up for and singing at the  Living Hope Church service at 10:00. Then we went to Rock City and hiked, saw some amazing views, ate some frozen lemonade, and got some Starbucks. Then we headed back to Pastor's house to swim and had grilled hot dogs and hamburgers for dinner. Then we headed back to our host families' for the night.

Saturday - June 29th, 2019

We started the day with breakfast with our host families. Then we got right to work with canvassing. We split into groups of two headed off to deliver flyers for Living Hope. We did the first neighborhood and went back to Pastor Melso's house for lunch. We got right back to work and did the same process. When we got back to Pastor's house, we got to go swimming and eat dinner. Then we rehearsed to sing for church on Sunday. The boys stayed with Pastor Melso for the night and the girls went back to their host family to end the day.

Thursday, May 27th, 2019

Today, we spent the entire day at Animal Kingdom doing the Amazing Race Teen Challenge! We were in teams of 4-6 teens and we got clues to find out which rides we needed to go on throughout the day. Our girl's team got 19th, and our guy's team got last. The lines were pretty long... For the Avatar ride we went on, the wait time was 2 hours and 30 minutes, just for a 4 minute ride, but it was totally worth it and we still had a lot of fun playing games and getting to know each other in lines. In the guy's picture, you can see that they had 2 other guys who were from Florida on their team, Lucas and Anthony. We got to know them pretty well and had a ton of fun. Overall, it was a super awesome day and we can't wait for many more adventures!!

Wesnesday - June 26th, 2019

We started the day with breakfast and went right into devotion and keynote speeches. Then we had a pizza dinner and went to Universal Mini Golf. Then we went straight to Dave and Buster's for two hours of unlimited play! We ended the day by coming back to the resort, we swam for a bit, listened to one more keynote speech, and went to bed.

Tuesday, June 25th, 2019

Last night we arrived at our host family's house in Tennessee. While it was a steep and winding road that led up to the house, the view was definitely worth it! We left their house at 5:00 a.m. this morning, but 10 minutes later it was 6:10 a.m. since we crossed the time zone. Many naps were taken today also. We stopped at Hardee's in Georgia for lunch right before we crossed into Florida. We did a little carpool karaoke, then got to our resort around 4:30, just in time to check in before dinner. We were taken by surprise at how hot it really was in the Florida humidity! The air conditioning broke in the building where dinner was, so it was a little sweaty and sticky for a while, but eventually, they got it working again. We did some mixers and icebreakers to get to know the other kids at the Amazing Race, then we had free time. We ended our day with reflection time in our cottages, and we can't wait for tomorrow!!

Monday, June 24th, 2019

We started the day with a departure from Jerusalem Church and School. We drove,
then we drove some more, and then just a little more, then we stopped at Costco for lunch.
We resumed our adventure, but this time instead of being anti-social and boring, we wrote
some mad libs. We drove a little farther and got dinner at Culver's. After that, there was
even more driving. During all this driving there were many movies watched, many naps
taken, and many topics discussed (we did table topics). Although it may seem boring,
we had a lot of fun.

Day 1
We started the day at St. Croix and began our adventure… We drove to Madison to pick up Seth (we didn’t forget him), and then proceeded to Morton Grove, IL. We got to Jerusalem Church where we got to know the youth group from Jerusalem that will also be at the Amazing Race Teen Challenge. We had an amazing dinner that consisted of some great pulled pork and brisket. Afterward, we played some dodgeball.
Then we went to our amazing host families’ houses for the night.
